Sarah is a member of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society (ATMS, member #53374), which is the recognition most private health funds require for remedial massage rebates. Whether you can actually claim, and how much, depends entirely on your fund and the level of extras cover on your policy. Please check with your health fund before your appointment to confirm what's covered. A receipt with all the information your fund typically needs is provided at the end of every session.
Your first session begins with a short, relaxed chat about what you'd like to focus on, any injuries or conditions, and how much pressure you prefer. The treatment then takes place in a calm, private room. Sarah checks in throughout to make sure you're comfortable.
If you have specific pain or tightness, remedial, deep tissue, or trigger point massage are good choices. For stress and general wellbeing, relaxation or hot stone therapy may suit better. If you're unsure, mention your goals when booking and Sarah will tailor the session.
It depends on your goals. For ongoing tension or chronic pain, fortnightly or monthly sessions are common. For general wellbeing and stress relief, a session every four to six weeks is a popular rhythm. Sarah can suggest a plan based on how you feel.
Yes. Cupping can be added to any massage for an extra $15, or booked as a stand-alone 45-minute cupping session for $50. Cupping uses gentle suction to lift tissue and may help with muscle tightness and recovery.
Pregnancy massage is generally suited to clients past their first trimester whose care provider is comfortable with massage. Sessions are gentle, well-supported with cushions, and tailored to comfort. Please check with your doctor or midwife if you're unsure.
Wear comfortable clothing you can easily change out of. During the treatment you will be appropriately draped at all times. You can undress to your level of comfort — Sarah will give you privacy to change.
Absolutely. Many clients travel in from across the Mid North, Upper Spencer Gulf, Yorke Peninsula and Eyre Peninsula — including Crystal Brook, Port Augusta, Whyalla, Clare and the Clare Valley.
Yes. The treatment room has wheelchair-accessible entry and an accessible bathroom. If you have specific access needs or would like to talk through what to expect on arrival, please mention it when you book — Sarah is happy to walk you through the space ahead of time.
Sarah works exclusively from her dedicated treatment room in Port Pirie — not as a mobile or in-home therapist. The clinic setup means a properly height-adjusted table, fresh towels, a quiet warm room and the equipment for cupping, hot stone and bolstered pregnancy work, every session. Country clients regularly travel in from Crystal Brook, Port Augusta, Whyalla and the Clare Valley and find the trip worthwhile for that consistency of care.
Payment methods are confirmed at the time of booking. Please ask if you have a preferred method so it can be arranged in advance.
Remedial massage is problem-solving treatment focused on specific patterns of tension, pain or restricted movement. Pressure is firmer and the work is more methodical. Relaxation massage uses longer, flowing strokes with lighter pressure to ease overall stress and quiet a busy nervous system. If you have specific aches, book remedial. If you simply need a true break, book relaxation. Sessions can also blend both — mention your goals when you book.
Many clients notice a useful change after a single session, particularly for tension headaches, sore shoulders or recent tightness. Long-standing patterns usually benefit from a short series of weekly or fortnightly sessions to establish progress before easing back to a maintenance rhythm. Sarah will give honest feedback at each visit about what seems to be helping.
Some clients experience a mild, workout-like soreness for 24 to 48 hours after a deeper session, particularly remedial, deep tissue, trigger point or cupping work. This usually settles on its own. Drinking water, moving gently and applying a hot pack to any tender areas tends to help. Lighter relaxation and hot stone sessions rarely leave any soreness at all.
Please reschedule if you have a fever, an active infection, the flu, or anything contagious — for your own recovery and to look after Sarah and other clients. For mild colds it's a judgement call; ring or message ahead and Sarah will help you decide. Massage is also generally avoided over fresh injuries, acute inflammation, and certain medical conditions without GP clearance.
