Tailored massage treatments for the way you actually feel.
Every session at Massages By Sarah is shaped around you — your body, your goals and your preferred pressure. Below are the core massage services available in Port Pirie.
Sarah Grapentin is a diploma-qualified remedial massage therapist trained across eight massage modalities — remedial, sports, deep tissue, trigger point, cupping, hot stone, pregnancy and relaxation. In practice, those styles aren't isolated boxes. Most sessions weave a couple of techniques together to suit the body on the table that day. A remedial massage might include a few cups through a stubborn area; a relaxation booking might lean into hot stones for extra warmth; a sports recovery session may finish with quieter, flowing work to help your nervous system settle. When you book, you're really booking time with Sarah — the techniques are chosen on the day.

Choosing the right massage for your body.
Pain or restriction in a specific area
Remedial, deep tissue or trigger point massage are usually the right place to start. These styles are designed to support recovery from focal patterns of tension — a lower back that won't loosen, shoulders held tight from screen work, a knot that keeps referring pain elsewhere.
Training load and sports recovery
Sports massage and remedial work suit clients who are training hard, playing weekend footy or netball, or working physically demanding jobs. Sessions can be timed around events or set up as an ongoing fortnightly rhythm to help the body absorb the work being asked of it.
Stress and a busy nervous system
Relaxation massage or hot stone therapy are designed to support your nervous system to quietly downshift. Longer, flowing strokes and the radiant heat of basalt stones can help relieve the tension carried by a body that's been running flat out for too long.
Pregnancy and the post-partum window
Pregnancy massage offers gentle, well-supported care through the second and third trimesters, with cushioning and positioning adjusted for your stage. Always check with your midwife or GP before booking, especially in the first trimester or with a high-risk pregnancy.
A typical massage session, start to finish.
Every massage at the Port Pirie clinic begins the same way — a short, relaxed chat. Sarah will check in on what's been going on with your body, any injuries or conditions, areas you'd like focused on and the kind of pressure you prefer. If it's your first session, that conversation also covers any health history that's relevant for the work ahead.
From there, you'll have a moment to undress to your level of comfort and settle on the table under fresh towels. The treatment itself is paced to your body — pressure is checked in on throughout, and Sarah will adjust techniques as needed. If you'd like firmer work, lighter work, more time on one area or less on another, just say so. The session is yours.
At the end, Sarah will share any honest feedback on what she noticed and may suggest simple aftercare — hydration, gentle movement, a hot pack to a particular area, or a suggested rhythm for follow-up sessions if it's appropriate. There's no upsell, no pressure to rebook on the spot, no surprise fees. A receipt is provided that includes the information your private health fund typically needs if your extras cover applies.
Not sure which session is right for you?
Mention your goals when booking and Sarah will tailor the session — including combining techniques like remedial and cupping in a single appointment where it suits. If you'd like to chat through it first, a quick call or enquiry is just as welcome as booking online.
