If you've never had a massage before, the unknowns can feel like enough to put it off. Most first-time nerves disappear within the first few minutes — but here's a walk-through ahead of time, so you know what's coming.

Before your appointment

You'll receive your appointment details after booking. Wear comfortable clothing you can change out of easily. Try to drink a glass of water beforehand and avoid a heavy meal in the hour before your session.

When you arrive

Sarah will welcome you in, and you'll have a short, relaxed chat about what you'd like to focus on, any injuries or conditions, and how much pressure you prefer. There's no pressure to know all the answers — Sarah will guide the conversation.

During the treatment

You'll have privacy to change. During the treatment, you'll be appropriately draped at all times — only the area being worked on is uncovered, and only when needed. Sarah checks in on pressure throughout the session, so you can always speak up if something is too firm or too light.

After the session

Take your time getting up. Drinking water afterwards can help. You may feel light and a little floaty for a few hours — perfectly normal. Some people feel a small amount of muscle tenderness the next day, similar to a good workout.
